Michelin's presence in Brazil dates back to 1927, with the start of operations at its commercial office in São Paulo. In 1981, Michelin opened their first factory in the country in the city of Rio de Janeiro. This factory is responsible for the production of tires for trucks and buses. Today there are 4 Industrial Units in Brazil: Campo Grande (RJ), Resende (RJ), Guarulhos (SP) and Manaus (AM) and a headquarter which is located in Rio de Janeiro - RJ. Another important activity in the country is the Michelin Ecological Reserve, in the south of Bahia, where the Michelin Ouro Verde Bahia program is located.
