Regional Data Manager

MISSION: 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead and drive our data strategy for the E2A region, where the scope of responsibilities covers countries in East Asia and Australia. This person will drive the development and implementation of data strategies to support strategic business objectives, enhance data driven decision-making processes, and deliver actionable insights to drive business growth. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data governance, advanced analytics, and collaborative mindset, with a proven track record of leveraging data to achieve measurable business outcomes.

Key responsibilities and duties:

Data Strategy & Deployment

  • Work closely with the leadership teams across Michelin Group to develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy, aligned with regional and group business and people objectives

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams from business and IT, to identify data needs, provide analytical support, sharing best practices, bridging gap between business and IT to help translate business need and working with IT to realize the data and analytical products.

  • Ensure smooth functioning and delivery of regional data needs, ensuring group platform best practices and principles are adhered and connect regional support teams to group teams when they face difficulties, challenges or reach a roadblock

  • Ensure clear prioritization principles to define and refine the overall roadmap

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data and analytics

Data Governance

  • Define proper governance model (and organization) to ensure proper lifecycle management of critical data and analytical products to ensure these continue to add value until retired

  • Lead data governance initiatives to ensure data quality, integrity, and security, following the Michelin’s DATS principle (Discoverable, Accessible, Trustworthy, Secured) for all data products

  • Establish and coordinate appropriate governance guidelines and platforms to effectively steer the data strategy and products deployment across domains within the region

  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of large datasets to meet business decision-making needs, acting as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for critical data and analytics needs

  • Promote continuous improvement in data collection, processing, and analysis methodologies.

  • Collaborate with data stewards in the Region and Group to ensure that data products and datasets are accurately captured and maintained in the Data Catalogue (Collibra)

Data culture (in collaboration with existing people development platforms in the Region)

  • Mentor and develop a team of data professionals to build regional capability for collecting, developing and maintaining regional data and analytical needs.

  • Raise awareness of analytical products in production to ensure wider adoption

  • Propose and provide (as needed) training programs and initiatives to foster a strong data culture within the organization, ensuring all employees are educated on the importance of data governance, quality, and security.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Overall experience between 12-15 years with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data analytics, data science, or a related field.

  • Expertise in data governance, data quality, and data security practices.

  • Proven track record of developing and executing data strategies in a large organization.

  • Good communication skills, with strong ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams and influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.

  • Sound understanding of concepts like Data Ingestion, Data Transformation, Data Exposition, Data Utilization and the tools supporting these processes. Example, Databricks, Azure DataFactory, Azure DataLake, Microsoft Power BI.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
