The Opportunity
Michelin is seeking a Senior Tire Designer to develop and validate cured tire models and related technologies that deliver best‑in‑class performance for our customers. In this role, you will combine deep technical design expertise with industrial awareness to create solutions that follow our design rules, meet meticulous quality standards, and align with our strategic goals.
You will play a key role in advancing Michelin’s commitment to people, profit, and the planet by bringing to bear data-driven insights and innovative engineering. This position is part of an accelerated development program built to strengthen your technical foundation, broaden your experience, and prepare you for rapid career growth. We are looking for a passionate emerging leader who is eager to develop specialized expertise, take on increasing responsibility, and ultimately contribute as a member of Michelin’s global R&D leadership Team.

Based in Greenville, South Carolina, you’ll enjoy access to scenic mountains, beautiful beaches, and vibrant nearby cities such as Atlanta and Charlotte. Our goal is to develop this individual into a high-impact international leader within Michelin’s R&D community.
What you will do:
- Champion transformation in tire design, with strong competencies in Data driven engineering (DDE), Transformer type profiles and digital twins
- Be a cross functional and agile leader driving modern ways of working.
- Develop, introduce and master new and innovative processes into traditional design processes to enhance speed and efficiency
- Lead digital initiatives related to Data Driven Engineering, simulation, and design.
- Promote the integration of modern modeling techniques to accelerate design cycles.
- Generate insights to advise and enhance decision making.
- Strengthen capabilities in mechanical design and simulation.
- Advance understanding of material interactions within tire design.
- Deepen expertise in vehicle–tire dynamics. Rapidly become an expert in tire design for performance.
- Strong project execution across design, performance, industrialization, and customer focused activities.
- Innovation driven approach that supports continuous improvement and new solutions.
- Ability to translate customer and industry expectations into actionable project requirements and outcomes.

- International mobility is required, with a potential expatriation to France within the first 3 yrs of your Michelin career
- At minimum 6 years of research and development/design experience. Industries such as automotive, aerospace, product design are preferred.
- Bachelors of Science in Engineering, equivalent technical degree or equivalent experience in product design is required.
- MBA highly preferred.
- Fluent in English. French proficiency preferred but not required. Will require the capacity to learn new languages.
